Goh Zhi Xun
Founder & Principal Physiotherapist | Musculoskeletal & Sports Physiotherapy
Zhi Xun is the founder of Physio Friend and an accomplished physiotherapist with over 12 years of experience in private practice. He is widely recognised for his leadership in physiotherapy, both as a clinician and as an advocate for advancing the profession.
In Australia, Zhi Xun established Physio Friend in Adelaide and grew it into an award-winning physiotherapy group with seven locations in just eight years. Beyond private practice, he contributed significantly to sports physiotherapy as Head Physiotherapist for multiple sporting organisations, including the South Australian State Dodgeball Team, Adelaide University Rugby Union Football Club, Adelaide University Touch Football Club, and the University of South Australia Climbing Club.
He has also played a role in shaping physiotherapy education. As a member of the Physiotherapy Advisory Board for the University of Adelaide’s Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Zhi Xun contributed to the development of the university’s inaugural Physiotherapy programme. In research, he served as a treating physiotherapist in a three-year clinical trial on knee osteoarthritis, applying the EPIPHA-Knee protocol to advance evidence-based management.
Clinically, Zhi Xun focuses on acute and chronic conditions of the neck, back and shoulder, with a strong interest in sports injuries and complex musculoskeletal disorders. His treatment approach integrates manual therapy, dry needling, Mulligan’s mobilisation, functional movement analysis, and customised functional exercise programmes, ensuring care is both evidence-based and tailored to each patient’s goals. An avid golfer himself, Zhi Xun is also Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 1 and Medical Level 2 Certified, a golf-specific certification that equips him with the expertise to assess and manage golf-related injuries and optimise performance for players of all levels.
His dedication to excellence has been recognised with multiple awards, including the Pride of Workmanship Award (Best Health & Fitness), the Aged Friendly Award, and the title of State Winner in the 2021 Australian Achiever Award.
